A MAGAZINE ABOUT MEXICAN-AMERICAN
CULTURE AND HERITAGE IN
SOUTH TEXAS AND MEXICO

October 1997
Volume 1, Issue 1
I would like to welcome you to our first issue of El Mesteño Magazine.
We want people, from school age children to grandparents, to read our magazine for enjoyment and for a learning experience.
Our first issue will be free so that you may get an idea what the magazine is about. We are taking subscriptions for the following months and it will also be available at news stands.
Our feature this month is on the small farming and ranching community of Concepción. Being one of the oldest settlements in the area (Duval County) it has lots of history to tell.
